By Marist Brother Linmeyer
On the 6th of June 2024, the Marist Brothers Linmeyer community came together to celebrate Champagnat Day with a special Mass in L'Hermitage Hall, marking a departure from the usual venue in the High School quad. This change added an extra layer of significance to the event as the community honoured the remarkable life and work of St. Marcellin Champagnat, the founder of Marist schools worldwide.
The celebration began with a Mass presided over by our Chaplain, Fr. Tshepo Duik, along with priests from neighboring parishes. Following the Mass, our High School students took part in an Alumni soccer and netball match. These games provided a wonderful opportunity to strengthen the bonds within our extended Marist family, showcasing the lasting connections that continue even after students have matriculated.
Meanwhile, our Pre-School and Primary School students enjoyed a morning filled with fun games and picnics. These activities allowed the younger members of our community to bond and learn about the importance of our school's history in an engaging and enjoyable way.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire Marist Brothers Linmeyer community for joining us in this celebration. Your participation and support made Champagnat Day a memorable and meaningful event.
