ESCA Wanderers proudly stands as the premier destination for cultivating students who excel in their chosen sports or cultural pursuits, epitomizing a legacy of nurturing Africa's talent.
Nestled within the prestigious Wanderers Sports Club in Illovo, Johannesburg South Africa, our school embodies a tradition of excellence.
Dedicated to the holistic development of our students, ESCA Wanderers provides a dynamic learning environment tailored to individuals driven by a passion for sports or cultural endeavours. With a steadfast commitment to empowering our students to leverage their talents as pathways to tertiary education or professional careers, we foster an environment where academic pursuits harmonize seamlessly with athletic and artistic aspirations.
ESCA’s offering is focused on four pillars: Academic, Co-curricular, Student Wellness and Exit Pathways. ESCA students benefit from distinguished educators, state-of-the-art facilities, expert coaches, and meticulously crafted athletic programmes. Together, these elements form a synergistic ecosystem designed to propel our students towards the pinnacle of academic and sporting/cultural achievement.
We have two admissions streams. The first is for students joining one of our five sports academies (Basketball, Football, Tennis, Golf, Gymnastics) and the second stream is for students who are looking for a flexible, individualised academic timetable which accommodates their practice and touring demands in their chosen sport or cultural activity, whilst still benefiting from our Student Wellness and Exit Pathways pillars. Accredited with academic bodies such as Cambridge International and the American GED®, ESCA Wanderers offers accredited pathways to academic excellence, underpinned by a culture that values Accountability, Empathy, Courage and Solidarity.

ESCA partners with cultural coaches who aim to ensure that our students never run out of options when it comes to cultural growth.
ESCA Primary School students also take part in a 5-week rotation programme, where students are exposed to a range of different cultural codes, giving them the opportunity to discover their talents.
